PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Evelyn Cheesman was an English entomologist best known for her extensive solo expeditions in the South West Pacific. Over the course of her trips, she collected around 70,000 specimens of insects, plants and other animals for London's Natural History Museum. In May 1917, Cheesman took up the position of Assistant Curator of Insects at London Zoo, and three years later she became the first woman to be hired as a curator and devoted herself to collecting specimens to fill the insect house.

Students use this board, and a handful of candy pieces to create different types of insects, and discover the parts of an insect as well as details on how they are classified throughout the project. This board is used in our Evelyn Cheesman unit. (1 board per student)
