Rainforest Plants (Meg Lowman) Lesson Plan

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In this lesson, student learn the names of the four layers of the rainforest, identify plants and animals that live there, and sample some of the foods that grow in the rainforest. Students also learn about "Canopy Meg" (Dr. Margaret Lowman) who is a renowned scientist and canopy researcher. For more than 30 years, she has designed hot-air balloons and walkways for treetop exploration to solve mysteries in the world's forests, especially insect pests and ecosystem health. 60 min | Ages 4-10
